Can emoze display email notifications on the active standby screen? If so, that would be killer.
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
Yes Emoze has it's own pop up display and it also uses the E71 built in home screen notifier. So YES.
  • klod · 7 months ago
No its not true, can't show in home screen like we want to be, its just a small icon on top, hate it.
  • JebBrilliant · 7 months ago
There is definitely a pop up on any screen that you are on and I will check about the integrated home screen notifier. Also I'm sorry you don't like the visuals. Is there something in particular? Feel free to email me Jeb@Emoze.com.

I just grabbed the Pro and had a couple of questions for others that might be using this:

    1. i'm on ATT. I cannot get any of my emails to send out. I have CWMX.com as my SMTP server but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

    2. any way to label each mail account uniquely? I have 3 POP accounts that I use regularly and each has the same addy but different domain (ex. bob@123.com, bob@234.com, bob@345.com. When EMOZE lists them, it just shows up as bob, bob, bob. kind of a pain to have to go in and check to see which account you are trying to use from the list screen.
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
    Hi Jryu,
For question 1. I don't have a good answer. I suggest contacting your email provider. My outgoing SMTP is mail.BrilliantExpos.com. Sorry not to have better help for you.

As far as your second questions goes, the answer is no for right now. You can not rename your email accounts.

If I can be of more help I'm @JebBrilliant on Twitter.

I found out about emoze a few months ago and I'm still amazed that it can synchronize not only your mails but also your contacts and calendars over outlook web access. I still wish nokia would improve the native mail client on the e71 because from my own experience, ever non native mail client sucks a lot more power out of the batteries and is not that well integrated.

    Anyway, thumbs up for emoze!

Yesterday at night when I red this post, I installed the software right away. I have to say that it is not better than neither Nokia Messaging nor Blackberry Internet Services (i use both in my line of work). The software is not able to manage Yahoo Accounts. Whaaaatttt????, how can you say that is the best push email when yahoo is out of the ecuation???.

And facebook functionality is limited just to messages, but where are all the others messages and functionality.

Is a good thing, but it is not the BEST as described.

If you want facebook on your E71, or any other java enabled phone, i would recommend you to use Widsets (I use it). The facebook widget allows you to change your status, upload pictures (taken direcly from the facebook wiget), see your albums, messages, profiles, wall, pokes, etc... it is by far better than the mobile version of the facebook page.

I like this. My company doesnt have Activesync Turned on, but this app can login to OWA and gank email like ActiveSync!! Now i dont have to carry the crappy blackberry. Also, the PUSH of the Windows mail is better then the native client. For 13/year....worth it really.
  • Smaragd · 8 months ago
erm, sorry but where did you see 13/year? Is that the Pro license for Emoze Pro? When I just checked it said $100.19/year or $60 for 180 days...
  • Smaragd · 8 months ago
or could this be local currency? too bad it doesn't mention US$, HK$, AUS$... In my case the $ could be HK$ : US$13 = HK$100.19...
    an anyone confirm this?
  • Mobile Observer · 8 months ago
    No, nobody can confirm this.
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
    Confirmed. Emoze is $12.93USD/year.
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
    Smaragd,

It is $12.93 USD per year for an Emoze Pro account. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Reply here if I can help you any further.

    All the best,
    Jeb

Just saw a new E71 blog on the web. Seems good. And more over updated frequently.

    http://e71unleashed.wordpress.com/
  • Mike Macias · 8 months ago
Looks cool thanks for the the link. I'm not sure that it's updated more
frequently since it only has articles for 2 days. But looks good. I wonder
what the name of the person is who runs it?
  • Mo · 7 months ago
LOL...come on Sachin, if you want to plug your own site you don't have to pretend to be an anonymous third party and you certainly don't have to try and put down Mike's site.
  • ozzi · 8 months ago
you can use Nimbuzz on the E-71 or anyother symbian device to chat on facebook, it also supports orkut, msn, yahoo, aim, google, orkut etc...

I was all excited to get a Nokia E71 it gets so many rave reviews about being a great alternative to BB and the iPhone for email, but after reading all this discussion about how piss-poor the Nokia email solutions are, and how all these third party apps are not free and not integrated, I am thinking about staying with my iPhone. Nokia is going to be charging $$$ for Nokia Messaging? Bummer. Wanted a high quality phone with great email support. Will keep looking I guess.
  • Mike Macias · 8 months ago
Don't forget you're paying $15 less a month for a data plan with the unlocked e71.

    Sent from my Nokia phone
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
Emoze is free for 1 email address or 1 Facebook account.
  • carlsberg · 8 months ago
I have been trying emoze over the weekend and I am liking it. I just have 1 question. How do I get my name to show up as sender rather than my e-mail? Thanks!
  • JebBrilliant · 8 months ago
    Carlsberg,

I don't know how to change the outgoing name but I'll look into it for you.

    Jeb
  • carlsberg · 7 months ago
    Jeb,

Did you manage to find anything?

I just updated my emoze and was hoping it will have that function. It didn't.

    Thanks!
  • JebBrilliant · 7 months ago
    Carlsberg,

I haven't been found a way to change the outgoing name. I will ask the head of R&D when I see him next week.

Let me know what they say.

I brought and tried Emoze... if i'm honest I wasn't impressed and thought it was a sack of sh*t.
It randomly disconnected and gives message on my phone display and it doesn't sync up with your email box when messages are marked as read.
I've recently been a Seven (System Seven) user and thought Seven was a better email app than Emoze.

This week I got fed up of Emoze and tried the latest Nokia Email App, you can point your mobile web browser to http://email.nokia.com
It's free... it works really well, and I much prefer this over Emoze and Seven. The look and feel of the latest Nokia Email App is smooth, reliable with a number of different options.
  • ujjwal · 8 months ago
there are many more applications like this one for ex. nimbuzz, ebuddy are much much better
  • rqqq · 8 months ago
Can Emoze be just a semi-push email?
Meant I want it to just check my email periodically?
Need a semi push email app..
I've tried seven but it's not semi but full type push email,
and it drains battery real fast..

please reply to my email : rickyadrianus@doctor.com
  • rqqq · 8 months ago
and also nokia email cant truncate, so it will be a bandwidth killer...
  • Tuborg · 8 months ago
Emoze is good but not the best I installed and wasted 13$ on a pro account. checking gmail, facebook and imap account... gives me sporadic email deleveries, they are almost always faster on Nokia messagning. (had both running for a while, surprisingly not as big of a battery drain as I thought).

Long story short I didn't find it worth the Pro account, and I had really hoped to use it for facebook mail, but that didn't really seem to work, often it crashed the connection when I logged i from my computer, meaning that I had to restart the connection in emoze and some times the whole app.

My advise try and evaluate before getting the pro upgrade!!! Personally just gave it the boot out of my precious e71.
  • carlsberg · 8 months ago
anyone know the fee structure of nokia email service? i know it is free now.

    thanks!
  • mobilestar · 8 months ago
Just tried Seven (www.seven.com) I like it. It's simple to use and gives me access to both my Yahoo and Exchange accounts as well as calendar and contacts. Real time sync of my calendar is critical...
  • carlsberg · 7 months ago
does it use up tons of ram like the reviews mentioned.

also, when you send an e-mail will it show your name or your e-mail address? i an enjoying emoze but i can't have it show my name whenever an e-mail is sent.

    thanks!
  • Mo · 7 months ago
emoze doesn't really work on my phone. I don't know if it's my phone or the program. I can't even add an account. It says "no data" when I try to add an account.
Unfortunately, none of these third party apps and even nokia msging work properly. They all have issues and somehow suck. Disappointing. I use gmail, and all I need is a notifier. I don't need an complete email program since gmail mobile provides the best email service anyways.
  • Yaron · 4 months ago
I'ts not free any more if i want to add account it say:"multiple accounts available in emoze Pro version."
  • 3ala2 · 4 months ago
Guys what about labels (folders) in Gmail, is it true Emoze can only get Inbox and Contacts. That's a bummber!
  • jack953124 · 1 month ago
this is good for gmail. not reliable at all for google calendar. it messes up all my appointments (recurring ones are set one hour in advance, all-day events are set a day behind)

bummer, wish this worked reliably for the calendar.
  • jack953124 · 1 month ago
by the way, is anyone else experiencing this issue?
