Nokia E71 Fanatics Blogs: E71 Tip: Hold Down Home/Menu Key To View Open Applications & Multitask

Thank you for keeping in mind the new comers. This is the first Nokia phone I have ever owned, so everything is new to me. I have had to put a fair amount of time into learning about it (have that handy PDF document available on my Mac for Spotlight searching through it). The E71 is a great phone (more than a phone of course). Some people will complain about Symbian's S60 interface relative to the iPhone, but I am happy with the E71

No problem. There will be plenty more of posts soon to come for both newcomers and experts.

Shift and backspace deletes the character in front of the cursor instead of the one behind. Saves repositioning to delete.

I have set the left soft key on my e71 to messaging. Somehow I held the soft key down a little longer than normal and all of the sudden I start hearing this voice say you have two new emails and then it starts reading my email to me.
I had no idea this was on the e71 and I can't find anything about it anywhere but it works great. It works with my pop3 email account, I can't figure out how to get it to read my exchange messages. But it is pretty cool anyway. Has anyone found this trick yet? Can I change the mailbox it reads?

THANKS FOR ALL THE SHORTCUTS. I CAN'T GET MY E71 TO CHANGE PROFILES BY HOLDING THE # BUTTON. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO DO IT? THANKS

This really isn't a big deal as those system tasks hardly use any RAM, but you can also close them completely if you'd like to. ...........
