Hey you can also try the Nokia HS-16 Headset. The sound clarity is amazing!!! I started loving my phone even more with this. Nokia provides 2 cables in the box both with 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm. Try it to believe!

They should work with any 2.5mm audio jack.

Quality of sound in E71 is so poor... I have beyerdynamic headphones, but only audiobooks are acceptable to listen.

Nope Mike they did not work right. Got sound out of only one side. On the up side the Nokia adapter I ordered is awesome and now I can use the phone with my 3.5mm Grado headphones and get fairly good sound...not great but ok. So don't order the Samsung headphones but do order part number AD-61 adaptor for your e71.

Bummer to hear that. Wonder what the heck caused the problem. When you plug them in does that little thing pop up that says "headphones" or "headset"?

Well the rings on the pin are exactly the same so I have to think the wiring is different. And yes I get the message, but it just says headphones.

they work fine on the e71x. When pluged in, it says headset. Sound quality is pretty good too...sounds similar to my sony headset

Not working on my E71-2 either, sound only coming out of one headphone. Doesn't seem to be using the mic either.
It would be curious if the e71x did something that an unlocked e71 didn't.
Anyone get these to work correctly with their E71(x)?

They don't work on my E71. Sound only comes from one ear piece and the sound quality isn't that great either. They seem like those cheap dollar store headphones. I haven't tried the mic yet but it doubt that it will work. I basically got ripped off. I'm gonna stick with my originals. What a waste of money!!

I can confirm that they don't work on my E-71 NAM - one ear only. I seem to recall a few years ago reading somewhere that the Nokia 2.5mm adapter was different than the one that most of the other mobile companies went with. Maybe they changed that for the E-71x.

Just bought one on Amazon also. My E71-2 said "Device not supported." Running firmware 200.X. I guess I'll just have to return it. I'll be out S&H both ways though... bummer.
