Nokia E71 Firmware Version 400.21.013 Released, Mostly Fixes & Improvements
(m.google.com)
It's from Nokia, free service, sync calendar, To-Do, notes to ovi web site.
It's still in beta, http://www.ovi.com

I know it's quite an over-engineered solutions but oh well it worked... now with Ovi much simpler :)
Any idea how to Synchronize my e71 Calendar with Lotus Notes calendar ?
On my E71, I get a System Error when I set to set a Meeting in the Calendar. Everything else works great. Even I did hard reset and tried. It does not solve the problem. Any idea on that....
I wrote up a post when I finally got this calendra sync issue solved and it was easy

I might almost be organised now :-)
Google Calendar subscribed to in iCal
Sync used to get iCal -> Nokia
Just have to go online to gCal to actually edit tasks though
scheduleworld.com
You don't have to install an app on your e71, you only use menu=>tools=>Sync.
this is really efficient : i synchronize my google calendar with my evolution mail and my e71, everything is updated in both ways.. really amazing.
You can also save your contacts into your evolution and your notes.
Just google this thing there is a lot of good how-to to set up this thing.
Try it !
"Syncing Calendar...." followed by "Connection Failed". I have uninstalled and reinstalled Mail for Exchange with no luck. And I have double-checked the settings.
Any suggestions?
i.e., I am married and i rely on my wife's calendar just as much (if not more! ;)) as i rely on my own. Goosync (free) allows for only one calendar to be synced.
Does scheduleworld work with multiple google calendars?
Works really well for me - but I'm also looking for something free...
The 'system error' problem when trying to sync seems pretty widespread among Symbian 60 phones. Mine is a Nokia E71, and while I like it, I'm really shocked by the amount of show-stopper bugs this device has, e.g. web browser crashes, flash player crashes, sync system errors.
Anyway, it seems I found a workaround for the system error (Systemfehler) bug while attempting to sync, via PC suite, iSync or whatever.
Here's what I did: I restored a memory backup I had made only two days ago, thus I copied the data back from the memory card to the phone memory. Of course, two days of changes were lost, which was ok.
While it's possible corruption of the calendar, contacts or whatever database had only happened in the last two days, I rather think the phone slightly rebuilds the data files or at least does some padding when restoring.
Thus, either copy back an old backup and loose some work, or perhaps do a backup when sync is not working and then do a restore afterwards.
If you want to be careful, you can copy the hidden backup file from the memory card on to another computer before overwriting it with a new backup. And in fact, this can be broused with the appropriate PC software (Nokim?), so actually nothing should get lost.
Anyhow, all is working fine now. Certainly a good alternative to reformatting your phone.
Regards, Tom
Previously had the free version of Goosync for three months which functioned like a charm. However in the last couple of days I get a system error and I decided to try a different syncing method.
So far one issue: creating a birthday event on the phone today sets it back by one day on my Google calendar. Quite odd. Starting in Google with a birhday event there is no problem, it shows up on the correct date in the phone.
Keep my fingers crossed:)
works very well. thank's for the write up.
I tried to sync my contacts too but I got a system failure after 100 contacts. This is apparently a known problem and an update is on schedule (already partially released) just not yet for my phone. So I'll wait with the contacts until the update is released.
Thanks very much for this write-up.
I've just installed NUEVASYNC on my E71 as per your super instructions, and it seems to be working semi smoothly, apart from some connection errors.
Just letting you know that your option 1: CalSyncS60 is now no longer free. But even so, I won't use it. I was using the beta version of CalSyncS60 for ages, and it really did not work. It didn't offer any control over what happened to the data.
NUEVASYNC seems a terrific tool.
Here's a quick question...
MAIL FOR EXCHANGE warns against using the PC SUITE to backup stuff. I'd LOVE to know how bad things get if one DOES use the two together. I'm a 'multi-backup' sorta dude, so I would like my data in various places. Any thoughts?
Blue skies
love
Roy
Thanks for the tutorial too
It really works
Set nuevasync up and works a treat.
Much appreciated
help!! cant get calender to sync on my e71. and, does it sync to the existing nokia calender or is it a new one?
