I am new to E71. I am using E71 with my prepaid t-mobile. I do not have data plan. I use wi-fi. When I want to download/use any apps it uses the t-mobile 3G/EDGE by default and fails.

How do I set the home wi-fi connection as default on E71? please help me out

so i have a similar problem. when i turn on my e71 w/out a sim it works perfectly. i can install the sim with the network off and the phone works perfectly too. the problem arises when i turn the networ back on; when i do that the phone will freeze and then shut off. any help??please.....im freaking out.....

Still haven't figured it out, and it seems to be getting worse - it shuts off more often now :( No one got back to me. I tried updating, but my carrier won't allow it... Please let me know if you figure it out!!

My E71 keeps shutting off/restarting ALL THE TIME as of recently. Sometimes it restarts itself, other times I have to manually turn it back on. I read somewhere that if there is space between the SIM card and the censor, the phone would reset, so I put a small piece of thick paper to ensure 100% contact all the time, but the phone still restarts/shuts off. Is this just me? Would updating the software fix this or is it going to make things worse? I don’t know what to do – the phone works SO well when it is on. It’s frustrating that sometimes it turns off or resets in the middle of texting and so forth. Or when I look at my phone and find that it’s turned off. PLEASE HELP

I had configured MFE on my E71 and it asked for an autolock key. Now I have removed MFE from the phone, but I am unable to disable the autolock key. I tried setting the autolock time to none under security settings but it gives error: "Unable to unlock!". How can I disable autolock?

When I view the videos I have taken in the gallery it does not show a thumbnail preview.

Help!!!

My installation of new software just kinda froze up, the next and cancel buttons were greyed out and it wasn't doing anything. the phone looked normal. so i disconnected the phone. it was fine for a minute then the screen kinda blacked out.

now it won't turn on!!!

Please let me kknow what i have to do, i didn't brick it did i?

I have one question concerning my e71. I have encountered this problem today for the first time, I got an sms from an unknown number, and replied on it, and in category reports it says failed. I've sent two more, in the same manner, and still for those two it was failed. That's the only number that rejects messages, with other numbers it works fine, does anyone know what is the problem?

I have an E71 which was originally a telus phone.

My problem is that when I try to use internet, it will not use my WLAN connection (which I already set up as an access point), it simply uses TELUS WEB access point and since I don't hate data, won't connect. I am also not able to delete the Telus web access point.

Hi, can anyone tell me how do I fix my dictionary? I'm having two dictionaries in my E71 now; one its thumbnail has abc, and another with a chinese character I presumed. The dictionary shortcut, that has the chinese character thumbnail, on the home screen apps gave me this message when i clicked it "Dictionary Word Information Missing. Install Word Database." I'm thinking uninstalling it, and reinstalling it will help. Anyone who have gone through this before please help? Thanks alot!

are there any thoughts on what is a good time-out time for the keyboard lock function? 2:00 is the default but that seems like a long time to me, especially if you're carrying it around. on the other hand 20-30 seconds could be annoying, especially if you're working on the phone at home. too bad the phone doesn't know when you're on the go and when you're at home!

Hi. My E71 has started randomly deleting my contacts - old and new - without my doing so. It's quite strange as the contact will be there one minute then gone the next. I've re-entered 1 particular contact 4 times!!! Is it possible the phone has a virus or something? It's just weird how it's only deleting some contacts...
