go to the link above... the update is announced yesterday, but when i connect my cellphone (E71-1) (UK - ARABIA), it still says --> "THERE IS NOT UPDATE AVAILABLE"...

That is where you can find the latest version of Nokia Software Updater. Be sure to install that before trying to look for firmware.
I still love my E71, but it's pretty painful to watch Nokia fail so hard compared to what's out there.

What's wrong with you, Nokia.
I personally went to Nokia Care Center at Bukit Bintang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia last week and updated the latest firmware version 110.07.127.
I can't comment how best is the latest firmware has been improved so far, but when I read through the changes/improvements as well as the corrections, I'm happy to know it. Unfortunately, I have not tested out all of it due to my knowledge limitation.
In general, there's no tremendous experience I have so far as I'm just a very basic user anyway. Reading some emails using Nokia Email Beta, chatting via fring, browse internet using Nokia Web browser.
Please feel free to let me know if you need to know something in particular! I'm more than happy to help with my limited knowledge here.

I just updated a few minutes ago and restored back with my backup, it went smoothly
Only Google maps didn't restore, don't know why
Let's try and feel, now, to see whether it's worth to update ;)

Nothing spectacular as improvement
Contacts are now matching the theme, but not the calendar (using Gold by PiZero)
Camera looks like improved, no more purple blur, but need to try under daylight (it's night here now)
No speed improvement (however i didn't complain for that before update)
The device software update contains v2.5.5.

Several apps on the the FW are down-rev from the latest ones on the nokia web site. MfE and Map both for sure. The update contains Maps wk30, and wk32 is downloadable on the web. Just go get the latest versions and install over the ones on the phone.

seriously... this is an update? if you use dark themes... be warned about the addressbook text color thing. seriously. i can't see them. the contact has to be selected so that i can see the name (this is on a completely black theme). other than that... lame.

I DL'ed the new firmware upgrade file, BUT !!!

I am from Holland, provider is Vodafone.
I have a problem, that the menu doesn't work, to make it work again i have to shutdown the phone to restart it again. Then the problem is gone for a few days and it start again.
If anybody has any tips or information for me. Thanks in advance.

NPCS just tells that u can re-put/reinstall the 100.07.76 FW on your phone, warns u about deleting everthing so one should make a savety copy of everything...what the hell? Makes no sence....so I won't fuzz about nothing and eventually till 2012 B.C. they might get it done...I personally won't bother about it no more and stick to what I got now... .. .

No improvement on the purple discoloration on the photo taken. I still need to press the 'T' button to focus. WTH?
... Just finished installing the firmware update on my phone (E71 RM-346).
I agree with ghodack -- photos still have purplish hue (but I REALLY think it's because I see what looks like a tiny piece of purple fiber inside the lens. Check your lenses closely.)
Other than that, everything is cool. It even seems to be running a bit "snappier" (perhaps just wishful thinking on my part though).
Don't forget to back up you phone before you install the new firmware.
The set seems faster in responding the button inputs. Camera captures looks better.
At the contrary of above comments, I have an improvement in regard of the purple blurry color: it just disappeared :D

If you have a branded Version, you may get your Update from your mobile network provider. This would then also include that you have a customized homescreen.
This means who has branded phone from operator will sertainly not get the update now (unless they change the product code via NSU)
the EURO and NAM version is not yet available via NSU.
The EURO version will be available in short while.
the NAM version will be the latest to get the update via NSU
for those who can't wait , you can always use PHOENIX or bring your phone to nearest Nokia Service Centre.
- Bluetooth connection indeed have better connection now, not keep reconnecting
- From the last firmware, you can just type a name in standby mode to search for contact, but in this new firmware, you can't do that
The rest, so far so good...
Fix/Update;-
1) Contact background fixed.
2) Loudspeaker sound volume increase.
3) Camera noise and purplish result had a little fixed.
4) Y drive added.
5) Nokia Maps update from wk 39 and performance on locking position improved.
6) Crash on contacts application fixed (on previous firmware, if the contact tab been
highlight and suddenly change view to menu, phone will crash and reboot).
7) Catalog update.
8) Browsing performance increase.
9) Startup performance improved a bit.
10) Music library refresh function improved.
11) Overall system stability improved.
Bugs/Missing;-
1) Still no Smart Dial function.
2) No Nokia Email Service.
3) No download for Yahoo! Go v3 (using get.go.yahoo.com).
4) Internet connection not automatically disconnect after quit from application.
5) Unhackable.
Will add later if found anymore fix/bugs notice in this update...
1) try to write few letters on home screen the click "options" (left key) and select Contact search on

what I like from this new firmware, I can now listen to my email inbox.. before, only SMS inbox has the "listen" feature from the option menu..

3) the phone back up shall be used for data back up (contacts, files, etc.). Settings rather not, as some settings might not perfectly work in newer version. Back-up is NEVER used for applications, all applications need to be fully reinstalled one by one. So your point No. 3 is not an error of newer FW, but it's a normal situation

- In recent call log, E71 will display only mobile phone icon even if you have saved that no. to be home telephone icon (anyone have the same issue?)

I can't figure out what the hell my operator has to do with phone firmware.
"I have no idea when there will be an update for the E71" - Nokia US Representative............
Confirmed that contact's background does not follow theme (have to use light-colored themes in order to see the lettering clearly). Photo still purplish but acceptable than before. Still have to press 'T' to focus (why is that?). Some system files also removed and have to reinstall via handset. No noticeable speed in operation.
In short, no actual benefit to upgrade, unless you have problem sets.

I changed my product code 0558785 (germany) to a american version with nss.
after this I was able to update the FW, But I have only english letters, my german keybord is not more working, no more "äöü". Shit... What can I do now

Asian and American version does'nt have this feature.
if you want it , change your product code via NSS and wait for newer update on NSU
or use phoenix to update.

i just got a replacement phone from nokia yesterday for a problem with my previous e71. the replacement phone comes with 110.07.127 RM-346 E71-1 (26) preloaded.
I don't seem to notice any clear improvement. feels about the same to me.

I have updated my E17 to the new firmware 110.07.127 and gotten unable to connect to WLAN and Web Browers, have anyone experience this?, any solution or to offer to resolve this issue, now I cannot assess my email and wifi to the internet.
For those who have not upgrade, my frank advice is to NOT to upgrade until it is stable, now I cannot revert to my old firmware after checking with Nokia Careline.
the camera is still slightly purple. and as i've mentioned, address book text doesn't follow theme's text color. so if you're using a black background theme or dark background theme, you won't be able to see the address book text unless it's highlighted. and the camera zoom bug is still there.
other than that, no noticeable improvement. still as stable as ever.
I change my e71 from swiss to Portugal. because the language. and the 3g works fine!

So far after upgrade I have only one problem - just one day before on the previous version Yahoo Go was able to detect my phone as E71 and downloaded Yahoo Go 3.0 and installed. After upgrade when i try to download - I get a message your phone is not supported. I am not sure if this a browser issue in new firmware - can anyone re-check if yahoo go download page works in old firmware? If yes - this is the potentially a defect in browser in the new firmware but google etc are able to detect my handset - strange but true.

Can I use a different country product code, if so, how do I get the update once it has detected the new software?
What i noticed is the speed of the device, i am using 8GB Card 80% full, before the device was slow, now it is very fast when i go from main screen to menu and submenu... I love it...
I will check other features later and update u.
